![]() ![]() I wish to learn much more about this topic so everyone feel free to share any and all knowledge about or relating to this intriguing subject, as well as your own personl opinions about it. Getting them to that point does involve a few maneuvers and events to occur. This event threw the Lysimachan kingdom/empire into confusion until it was conquered/dissolved by Seleucus when he killed Lysimachus at Corupedium in 281 bc. In Total War: Three Kingdoms Fates Divided, some essential characters in this incredible franchise called Cao Pi and Zhen Ji, historically, get married. Both kingdoms prospered for a time and the alliance checked the power of Seleucus I Nicator and his empire for a time, until for some reason (perhaps Arsinoe's influence) Lysimachus executed his son and successor Agathocles. I only just started pursuing this topic, and the most succesful (at least in the short-term) that I can think of at the moment was that of Ptolemy I Soter's daughter Arsinoe II marryiing Lysimachus of Thrace during the early Hellenistic Age (323-30 bc). A topic that recently sparked my interest was that of how peoples/kingdoms/empires/nations would "cement" their alliances between each other by one group's leader marrying their eldest child to the eldest one of their ally. ![]()
